German Westerwald Salt Glazed Pot
A traditional salt glazed German folk art pot traditionally used for preserving, fermenting sauerkraut or storing utensils. Made from iron free grey clay and finished with a salt glaze. It was handpainted in the glorious cobalt blue so each pot is unique. Loving the lug shaped handles! Use it for utensil storage or as a decorative vase. A lovely rustic, vintage, country look. Measures 6ins tall x 6.5ins wide including handles. It is very similar to the pots produced in the Alsace region of France and used throughout Europe.
