Antique Asiatic Pheasant Sauce Tureen

I not only love the traditional Asiatic Pheasant transferware design, but the shape of this small tureen is simply adorable.  Just look at the details on the handles and that stand is stunning. Likely an early piece from the 19th century which is still very attractive for today’s tastes. I’ve filled this one with flowers from my garden, but it is equally at home full of bobbins and lace or even fruit and decorative baubles. It is an old piece, missing the original lid, so is marked and has a small aged crack as shown. Measures 4ins tall x 5ins diameter; plus the handles.
