Rare Helix Copper Ink Well Filler

Often mistaken for a small indoor watering can, this is actually a rare, school ink well filler. Rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it! It has a distinctive inner shelf designed to prevent spillage, even when tilted; a quite unique and important addition.  In gorgeous condition made from copper sheet with distinctive soldered joints. Clearly marked "Helix," "British Made," and "Patent applied for 9034/54" from the mid century. Great for collectors of the unusual and it makes a good talking point!
