Pair of Antique Shelley ‘Roself’ Vases
I love Shelley and it is getting rarer to find these days. I was thrilled to find this pair of Art Deco vases in an antique shop recently. Wonderful to see that the pair had survived together. From around 1920 and in a matte black finish with a hand-painted pink rose, green leaves and white stylised floral stalk. They measure just 5ins tall and 1.5ins at the base. There are some marks attributed to their age but overall a delightful sight. I imagine these to have been displayed on an Art Deco/ Nouveau dressing table with a single stem rose. So very pretty against the black background. A delightful gift, or could you part with them?
