Gaudy Welsh Child’s Mug
With its very distinctive cobalt blue, iron red (orange) and copper lustre it is undeniably Gaudy Welsh. A tiny mug, which could have been specifically for a child it stands at just 2.5ins tall and is 2ins diameter. It has an obvious chip, hence the price, and plenty of crazing but it is likely from 1820-1860. Produced in Staffordshire particularly for the Welsh market.
