Large French White ‘Lions Head’ Soupier/Tureen

The vintage maker's mark on the base of this elegant lion’s head soupier or tureen is for Pillivuyt; a renowned French porcelain manufacturer founded in 1818. It is in excellent condition and can be repurposed as a planter, vegetable dish or fruit bowl. Of course, it could still be used for soup, although the lid has parted company! Pure white with the distinctive lion’s head as handles on either side. On its own pedestal to give it height. I’m rather partial to putting a small Christmas tree in it ! Measures 8.25ins wide with the handles x 6ins tall.  Wonderful for spring bulbs too; particularly ’Paper Whites’.
