Antique Stoneware Ink Bottke
This salt-glazed stoneware ink bottle (often referred to as a master ink or bulk ink bottle), dates from the Victorian era; 19th century.
Made from durable, dense stoneware with a characteristic brown salt glaze finish; giving the surface its subtly textured, orange-peel-like gloss. Mass-produced in the 1800s to hold and distribute bulk ink to schools, businesses, and government offices before the widespread adoption of fountain pens and pre-filled cartridges. They originally featured cork stoppers. Nowadays used as containers for flowers, pens, paintbrushes and grasses. Measures 6.75ins tall x 2.75ins diameter at the base. There are some chips depicting its age.
