New home trend predictions... Turns out vintage was ahead of its time...

As we patiently wait for Spring, our thoughts turn to new life in the garden, longer days, better weather, Spring cleaning and maybe even decorating our homes.

I’ve been reading that home trends are moving away from cold, white minimalism and towards warm, rich, earthy tones. Now, I’m not one to follow trends, but for once, this news is music to my ears! I did try living in a house with white walls once. I always admire the look in other homes, but it just wasn’t for me. They were soon repainted.

Of course, Elsie’s Vintage has always leaned towards rustic, repurposed and slightly rusty pieces. It seems we may finally be ‘on trend’. There’s talk of longevity and choosing forever pieces; natural textures, sustainable materials, tactile things that last and even improve with age. Vintage fits rather comfortably there.

You know me. I’ve always sourced and curated worn wood, deep earthy terracotta, antique and chipped stoneware, beautiful baskets and cosy wool blankets. Elsie’s Vintage will carry on exactly as it is, not because it happens to suit the moment, but because that’s what we love.

In other news. Thank you for supporting me at the Staffordshire Showground this month, whether in person or online. I’ll be back there in April and shall remind you nearer the time!
Alongside our floral and vintage challenges on Instagram, I’m introducing ‘Tuesday Talk Time’. Launching on 3rd March, it’s aimed at bringing people together, chatting about experiences guided by a loose theme, and enjoying social media rather than trying to figure it out. Have a look at my Instagram grid and join us if you would like.
Enjoy the longer days and until next time.
Elsie 🌸
