Vintage Miller Heater Guard!
I admit that when I bought this intriguing aluminium object I had no idea what it was. Neither had the chap who sold it to me! I just love quirky things. I’ve researched it and believe it to be a poultry incubator lamp guard. Made by Miller the large side ventilation holes allowed heat to safely dissipate from an oil burner or heat lamp while preventing chicks from directly contacting the flame or hot bulb. Makes sense now. Apparently highly sought after and if you like ‘different’ then go for it! Great as a colander (which they are often mistaken for), a tray in your potting shed, candle display holder or plant pot saucer. I believe some have been converted to pendant style lamp shades. Measures approximately 9ins diameter x 2.25ins deep.
